How we got started...

Adventures in iWear and EVERYTHING above the neck! Thanks for being a new customer and/or a loyal customer. We so appreciate your business and your demand for high quality service. We LOVE doing what we do here at Hibiscus iWear and are very proud of what we have created, a shopping experience like no other with all of the top brands to choose from and top rated service alongside FREE lightening fast shipping. I started a small on-line sunglass store in 2003 when I first met my husband. He has been in the action sports industry his entire life and when I met him he had at least 200 pairs of sunglasses just sitting in boxes in the garage from the various eyewear companies he had worked for. I had some experience selling on ebay with my bicycles, so I thought of starting a small store to sell all of these beautiful sunglasses. Fast forward 9 years and here we are, evolving into a well-known ecommerce web-store offering everything an outdoor enthusiast and fashionista wants or needs ABOVE the neck. We are a Certified Dealer of over 25 brands and order direct from the manufacturer, anything from discontinued items to new season latest fashions – and we handpick items that fit within the essence of Hibiscus iWear. We truly think about what our customer will be searching for in the upcoming seasons and that steers our purchases. I am also a professional cyclist racing for Team USA and the current World Record holder in Women's Team Pursuit, training and preparing for the 2012 London Olympics, when I am not busy with my store, OR is it the other way around? Customer Service is what I pride myself on. I feel it is the most important part of any business, but especially an internet business. Anyway, that's my little story. I have been with Hibiscus iWear in some capacity since 2008. I came from a very different place than my sister, but that's makes our partnership so exciting and balanced. I spent 7 years as an officer in the Air Force traveling all over the world with my last assignment being in Honolulu, Hawaii. After my son was born in 2007, I knew it was time for my family to settle down and for me to no longer be at risk of deployment. That's when my sister and I began our exciting conversations about Hibiscus. Living in Hawaii, participating in amateur racing events, and spending many hours on the beach gave me a whole new appreciation for fabulous eyewear, more than basic military sunglasses. After having headaches on and off for months and then finally realizing it was my sunglasses, I truly understood the importance of quality eyewear. Thus became my interest in the necessity of comfortable but good looking eyewear that serves a purpose whether running the trails, riding the waves, or just sitting in the car fighting Oahu traffic.
Fast forward 3 short years, 1 move to Kentucky, and a second baby boy, Hibiscus iWear has grown into something so much more than a sunglasses business. Expanding our focus to EVERYTHING above the neck has been fun and exciting and keeps this Mom focused on the latest safety technology to share with our customers. Being able to grow our business and give back to four charitable organizations that Dotsie and I are passionate about, has been rewarding and infuses our enthusiasm about this business and beyond.
